“Think Before You Follow – Building Social and Financial Resilience for Life”

Mobadroon, Syria
March 16-23

Global Money Week (GMW) 2025 will launch this March under a new theme introduced by the Aflatoun Network:
“Think Before You Follow – Building Social and Financial Resilience for Life.”

This initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of financial literacy among youth, with activities taking place from March 17 to March 21, 2025.

Global Money Week is an extension of Aflatoun Day, coordinated by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), reaching millions of children and young people in 176 countries. The campaign focuses on strengthening financial and social resilience, helping young people make sound financial decisions, manage their money wisely, and adapt to financial challenges in a changing world.

Promoting Critical Thinking and Financial Resilience

This year’s theme emphasizes the importance of critical thinking in navigating financial pressures such as peer influence and misinformation. It encourages youth to develop strong financial skills that enhance their independence and financial awareness.

In this context, Roland Monasch, CEO of Aflatoun International, stated:

“We are committed to equipping future generations with the tools they need for financial success. By promoting critical thinking and financial resilience, Global Money Week 2025 will highlight the importance of making informed financial decisions to ensure a stable future.”

He added:

“Our duty is to provide young people with the knowledge and resources needed to face financial challenges and seize available opportunities.”
